Daryle F. Houston II Announces Intention to Run for Michigan’s 14th Congressional District in 2020

SOUTHFIELD, MI - - - Today, Southfield attorney and former Wayne County Domestic Violence Assistant Prosecutor, Daryle F. Houston II announced his 2020 campaign to unseat Brenda Lawrence and become the new U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 14th Congressional District.

“I think we are at a pivotal time in this country where we can get a lot of things accomplished for a lot of people, especially for members of my community. While others are seeing destruction and unrest, I see hope and opportunity”- Daryle

Daryle experienced both sides of Metro Detroit growing up. Spending part of his childhood living in the Jefferson Square Townhomes on Detroit’s eastside. Later, moving to Harper Woods where he attended and graduated from the Grosse Pointe School District. He is uniquely qualified to represent, and understand the issues, wants, and needs of his soon-to-be urban and suburban constituents of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District.

“Even in the wake of recent tragedies and social unrest, I believe we are headed in the right direction as a country. Today, many of the pressing issues that have historically held us back as a nation such as unfair trade, immigration, race relations, gun violence, and mass incarceration are begging for solutions. While many are shouting and screaming, I’m ready to go to work on day one to assist in finding solutions to those and many other issues.”- Daryle
